Rangpur Zoo is located in Rangpur district town. It is the largest zoo in the North Bengal region of the country. Its construction was started on August 14, 1988, and completed in June 1991. It was opened to the public on 14th June 1991. 

The Rangpur Zoo is situated on a total of 22.17 acres of land. It is one of the two government zoos in the country. There are children's parks, restaurants, artificial lakes, and various species of animals and trees in the zoo. It is not only the zoo but also a green park full of trees.

The Zoo is one of the best entertainment centers in Rangpur district. Thousands of tourists from the local area and different places of the country come here every day to enjoy the natural environment of the zoo to remove their tiredness and depression of mind and enjoy the unlimited beauty of the zoo.

There are 26 species of animals and birds in the zoo. Among those, lions, Royal Bengal tiger, leopard, hyena, bear, monkeys, baboons, deer, parrots, eagles, vultures, storks, egrets, oysters, snakes, etc. are noticeable. There are also rows after rows of different trees of fruits and medicinal plants inside the zoo area. The zoo is open for visitors every day of the week from 7 am to 8 pm.
