Buddha Dhatu Jadi
Buddha Dhatu Jadi which is known as the Golden Temple of Bandarban is situated at Pool Para in Balaghat I Bandarban. It is also known as Mahasukh Mandir. Although it is named as Golden Temple, there is no statue made of gold in the temple. It is now known as the Golden Temple for its golden color.
It is only 4km away from Bandarban district headquarters. It is a beautiful pagoda made of pebbles in the high mountain. This is a sacred pilgrimage center for Buddhists. Here many Buddhists from home and abroad come to see the temple and pray.
The temple was built at a cost of around Taka 10 crore. This Pagoda is one of the best Pagodas in Southeast Asia. There is a small pond named 'Debota Pukur' on this high mountain. Currently, the Buddha Dhatu Jadi is known as one of the most attractive tourist spots in Bandarban district. It is a significant temple for the Buddhist religion. Its construction style is similar to the Buddhist temples in Myanmar, China, and Thailand.
From this pagoda, the beautiful surroundings of Balaghat and surrounding areas can be seen. Apart from these, Bandarban Radio Station and the zigzag road of Bandarban-Chandraghona are also visible from here. This pagoda is a modern religious architecture of Bangladesh. A fair is held every year at a particular time in this temple.
This pagoda is open all day for the worshipers. If you go to visit Buddha Dhatu Jadi, you should go from 8:30 am to 11.30 am, and if you do not want to go in the morning, you can go between 12:45 pm and 6 pm. Here, the entry fee is only 10 taka per person.
