Satchari National Park
The Satchari National Park is located in Raghunandan Hills at Chunarughat upazila in Habiganj district. The Park was established in 2005 with an area of 243 hectares. There are seven mountainous falls (Chara) in this garden, from which it is named Satchari. Previously the name of Satchhari was Raghunandan Hill Reserve Forest.
The National Park is surrounded by a few tea gardens, villages, towns, and cultivated lands. There are nine tea gardens located near this national park. The Satchari tea garden is situated on the west side of the garden and the Caklapunji tea garden is in the east. There is a village named Teprapara inside the park. 24 tribal families live in the village. People from around fourteen villages, especially tea garden workers and residents of forests are dependent on forest resources in various ways.
In addition to the 145 species of trees in Satchari National Park, there are 197 species of animals and birds. Of which 149 species of birds, 24 species of mammals, 18 species of reptiles, and 6 species of amphibians are found in the park.
The tourists enjoy the nature from this park. The various sounds of the insects offer great pleasure to the tourists. Among the 24 species of mammals in the forest, apes, tigers, pigs, humans, snakes, monkeys, etc. are notable. Among the 149 species of birds, Dhanesh, Redhead Tragan, and among the plants there are rare plants like Bishlata, Pitraj, Kanaidinga, Agar, etc are notable. This is a very popular place for the nature lover tourists.
