Lawachara National Park
The Lawachara National Park is also known as a Rainforest. Many species of wildlife and trees are found here. There are about 167 species of trees in this park. The Lauwachara National Park is only 10 km away from Sreemangal and 196 km from Dhaka. It covers an area of about 1,250 hectares.
Some rare species of apes are seen here. A total of 16 ape families attract thousands of tourists to this forest. Ape gibbons are wild animals without tails and are very much like monkeys. They attract tourists with their various naughty activities. Among the important animals of this forest, monkeys, Hanuman, shy monkeys, Maya deer, wild boar, etc are most noticeable. There are also 246 species of birds in this forest.
There are three ways to get around the garden. One is for three hours, another is for one hour, and the other is for half an hour. There is also a Khasia village inside the garden.
The entry fee to the park is 25.00 taka per person. You may also take a guide from here. If you walk to the side of the ticket counter, you will see the famous tea stall where the famous seven-layer tea is found. A glass of seven-layer tea is worth 70.00 taka. You can also see the Dhaka-Sylhet railway passing through the jungle.
