Madhabkunda Water Fall
Madhabkunda Waterfall is known as the highest waterfall in Bangladesh. The location of this scenic waterfall is in Baralekha at Moulvibazar district in Sylhet division. Once it was known as the only natural waterfall in Bangladesh. But now many more waterfalls have been discovered in the country. However, it is still one of the main attractions of Bangladesh to tourists.
As the place is a famous tourism center at home and abroad, a rest house and a restaurant have been constructed by the Tourism Corporation of Bangladesh. Besides, the Madhubkunda Eco Park has been built around the entire area by the government of Bangladesh.
The mountain from where the waterfall is rolling down is full of stones. It is known as Patharia Hills. The water of the waterfall rolls down from 162 feet high. Generally, a main stream of water is always flowing. In the rainy season, another small stream is formed next to the mainstream. And in the middle of the rainy season, two streams are mixed to swell the water. This waterfall's water flows to the west side towards the Hakaluki Haor. There is another fountain known as Parikunda Waterfall, situated at a distance of 15-20 minutes from Madhabkunda Waterfall.
On the way to Madhabkunda waterfall, you will see a wide area of tea gardens in low-lying hills. There are many orange gardens, tea, lemon, betel nut, and betel leaf gardens found next to Madhabkunda Waterfall.
