Tourist Attractions in Narail
Narail is amongst the smallest districts in Bangladesh. It is a district of Khulna division of southern Bangladesh. In 1861, the Narail subdivision was established under the Jessore district. At that time this subdivision was formed in coordination with Narail Sadar, Lohagara, and Kaliya sub-districts. On 1 March 1984, Narail was transformed into a district.
Narail is an ancient city of rich cultural heritage. The various music, poetry, and sports of this area significantly contributed to the culture of Bangladesh. The traditional folk songs of this district include Jatragan, Palagan, Kabigan, Jarigan, etc. Some of the popular sports in Narail district are boat races, kabaddi, stick box, bullfight, etc. Besides, traditional fairs and festivals are organized in this district regularly. In addition to this excellent heritage and culture, Narail has a spectacular natural beauty. Here are green paddy fields, rivers, and canals. The main rivers of this district are Chitra, Nabaganga, Madhumati, etc. Various species of fish are available in the rivers and canals.
The most popular sights of Narail are the Niribili Tourist Center near the Lohagara sub-district and the Arunima Park located in Kaliya. Narail's communication system has been improved in the past few decades, and it is likely to soon emerge as a developed district. Directions to Go
Narail can be reached directly by road from Dhaka. There are direct buses that run to and from Narail to Dhaka as well as other nearby districts. There is no airport in the district but Jessore airport is the nearest (only 51 km away).
