Natore Royal Palace
Natore Royal Palace is located in Natore District town. It is also known as Rani Bhabani Rajprasad. The cannon of the Royal Palace is placed in front of the palace. There are six ponds inside the palace area. The whole palace is surrounded by lake-shaped tanks from outside. The building which was built in the 17th century still attracts visitors. This palace was the residence of Queen Bhabani which is also known as Big Taraf Bhavan.
King Ramjibon accepted a bill of donation of 180 bighas from the king of Puthia in 1706-1710 AD, where he built this palace. Rani Bhabani took control of her legacy by inheritance. At that time women could not have thought of ruling the state. But the glory of the queen Bhabani was so great that the people used to call her as Great Queen. She was great in donating, meditation, education, drinking water, communication development, medical and religious affairs, and so on.
There is a large pond at the entrance of the Royal Palace. Visitors become fascinated by the beauty of the pond. The whole palace is surrounded by huge trees. There is a newly built Community Center next to the pond. In front of the community center, the Tarakeshwar temple is located. There are eight temples in the Royal Palace courtyard. A large Shiva temple is situated in the center. Hindus still do their regular worship here.
The captivating design of the temple impresses everyone. There is an image of Shiva, an image of a snake, an artwork of a Baul, and a variety of artworks including terracotta on the walls of the temple. Everything in the Royal palace attracts tourists.
