Bangladesh is home to beautiful zoos, which host exotic wildlife. The Bangladesh National Zoo is located in Mirpur in Dhaka and hosts nearly 3 million visitor every year. The zoo is spread across an area of 186 acres and is home to wildlife species, both native and non-native: elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, otters, waterbucks, black bears, impalas, deer, tigers, etc to name a few. The Rangpur Zoo is North Bengal's biggest zoo. Spread over 20.27 acres, the zoo is a prominent tourist destination and is home to avian, mammalian, and reptilian species. In Chittagong is located the Chittagong Zoo, which is houses the Indian Lion, Indian Muntjac, Asian Black Bear, and Chital. The Comilla Zoo and Botanical Garden is located in Comilla and houses seven different monkey species, python, hare, and Egyptian hens, amongst others. The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park is located in Gazipur and comprises 5 major sections. The Dulhazra Safari Park has been developed as an eco-tourism centre for entertainment and research. It is believed that the park is home to nearly 4,000 animals which belong to 165 species. The animals bred at the Dhaka Zoo too are shifted to the safari park due to an increase in population.
