Tourist Attractions in Patuakhali
Patuakhali is a district under the Barisal division of southern Bangladesh. The district consists of sedimentary land and some islands in the river basin of Meghna.
It was part of the kingdom of Chandradvipa in the 14th century AD. In 1871 it was turned into the subdivision of British Bengal. It was turned into a district from the subdivision in 1969.
The region is rich in fisheries. Rivers are vital for fish resources in rivers, canals, ponds, streams, and lowlands of Patuakhali district. River mouths of this district are famous for the Hilsa fish.
Patuakhali is called Sagarkanya (The Sea Queen). In the south of the district, the coastal beach of Kuakata is located which is a heritage carrier. It's an exciting beach resort and one of the famous tourist destinations in Bangladesh. Sunrise and sunset can be seen from the same place on this beach. This phenomenon has made the beach one of the most unique beaches in the world.

Fatrar Forest – A protected mangrove forest on the west side of the beach, which has been known as the 'second Sundarbans'.

Alipur Port - About 4 kilometers north of Kuakata, Alipur is one of the largest fishery business centers in the southern part of the country.
